A family friendly grey shaker kitchen

Katherine and her husband went to the Sigma 3 Esher showroom following a recommendation from a friend who loved their Sigma 3 kitchen and they haven't looked back since...

The Gray family went into our showroom in Esher open-minded so their possibilities were endless.

At the time their kitchen was white and gloss but the couple had grown tired of white gloss and decided it was time for a change.

Choosing the style of their new kitchen was easy – Katherine immediately fell in love with one of the displays upon visiting the showroom and decided she wanted her kitchen to look like that. The kitchen of choice was a grey, classic shaker kitchen – our Sherborne range in Farringdon Grey and Scots grey.

At the time, the family home was in the process of being extended so they were able to create a kitchen that was larger than the original one. Sigma 3 designer Susan guided the Gray’s through their new kitchen journey and the Gray’s laid down the brief.

Although the couple had an open mind in terms of the kitchen’s design, they specified that they wanted a sink that overlooked the garden and a sociable kitchen island that would work as a central point in the kitchen.  Katherine was also excited to have high cabinets, ovens and storage features as her old kitchen could not facilitate these and she was fed up of having to bend down.

They also opted for a completely clear island so that the children could eat and do their homework around it. Katherine said this makes this island the favourite part of her new kitchen as it works as a central point and is really sociable. 

The family’s kitchen has gone from being a small part of the house to the central point of the home.

Katherine said; “Our experience with Sigma 3 was fantastic. Susan was brilliant. She was endlessly patient with all the different questions I had for her. She never seemed to get frustrated so that was absolutely brilliant”.
