Charlie Brooks’ Scandi Kitchen Renovation

At Sigma 3 Kitchens, we reached a milestone this month: 50 years of kitchen renovations. That’s a lot of time to build trust, so much so that even celebrities now let us handle their projects. On that note, do you like celebrity kitchen tours? We do – from sportspeople to The Great British Bake Off stars!

Luckily, our very own designer, Melina Ashrafi from Sigma 3 Kitchens Esher, recently helped renovate the kitchen of Eastenders legend and 2025 Dancing on Ice star Charlie Brooks, who just completed a huge home remodel. Charlie kindly let us into her home, so check out her new Scandi kitchen.

Not only that, Charlie also generously gave us a lowdown on her design choices and her experience of working with the Sigma 3 Kitchens team. It’s a privilege to get this level of access from a celebrity, particularly while they’re preparing for a major reality-TV show, so we’re super grateful.

Charlie Brooks’ Kitchen Redesign Ideas

“To begin with, I was unsure as to what I wanted and which direction I wanted to go,” Charlie told us. “Melina helped me gather information and some great options to help fine tune the final vision. She was super patient and helpful as I can be prone to changing my mind!”

Originally, Charlie confessed, she’d had a boho kitchen makeover in mind but discovered that some of the elements would inevitably inhibit her lifestyle goals. “Melina helped me make some great choices!” she said. “I can be a little indecisive at times, and really valued her guidance.”

After a consultation, the soap star changed her mind, opting instead of a stylish H-Line Ligna Farmhouse Oak range. Along with the cabinets came LED lighting and Onyx handlerails, the latter being an attractive feature exclusive to handleless kitchens.

“After reviewing several kitchen options, [I] decided the Scandi wood vibe would create more space and organisation, that I could then accessorise afterwards,” Charlie said. And she was correct; Melina’s kitchen remodel designs have provided a bounty of customisation opportunities.

Mixing cozy wood and hygge textures with a white quartz worktop and minimalist, Scandi-style furniture has given Charlie everything she wanted in a boho kitchen but with extra countertop and storage capacity. As she said: “I loved the clean lines of this range, the simplicity and the wood finish.”

Key to maintaining that level of organisation is hiding waste. That’s why Melina recommended our unique integrated kitchen bins. Fitted with odour-supressing innovations and detachable bins, this discrete waste management system has helped Charlie keep her floorspace clean and ready to welcome guests.

Likewise, all Charlie’s units contain Anthracite Linen cutlery inserts, which store all her cutlery and utensils in an attractive manner without the need of cheap-looking plastic trays. Again, Melina knew Charlie, a working mum, could make good use of feel-good storage solutions that spark joy.

“The design service was fantastic!” Charlie gushed, marvelling at her collection of bohemian kitchen accessories on open shelving above her worktops. “I was thoroughly guided through from start to finish. I needed all the help I could get as there were a LOT of decisions to make.”

“Luckily, Melina is super experienced and walked me through the process, bringing my perfect kitchen to life,” she added. Just a few recommendations included internal modern drawer boxes, which double the accessible storage space of some drawers and match Charlie’s modern handleless kitchen.

“I love the breakfast bar,” Charlie told us, regarding her favourite features. In the end, she opted for a slimline kitchen island with an overhanging worktop and a built-in oven. “I was worried the wood might make it feel too heavy […] I was wrong. It all complimented itself beautifully.”

This Scandi colour palette was no happy accident; it was all by design, from the room’s wood-adorned LineaPlus drawers to the milky walls and floor tiles. Furthermore, it’s practical. As Charlie put it: “My kitchen has also never felt more organised, which brings me a lot of joy.”

And it’s not just the kitchen features that follow this mantra. Indeed, her adjoining utility room storage cabinet is a chic yet fully organised affair with well-spaced shelves, smooth-pull drawers and the ideal cubby hole a vacuum cleaner or other long cleaning tools.
