Colour of the Year 2020

Pantone Colour Institute has announced that its 2020 Colour of the Year is Classic Blue which means you're likely to see a lot of blue in interior design this year - but our shade of Windsor Blue has always been a popular choice with customers...

As we begin a new decade of uncertainty, Classic Blue offers a “solid and dependable blue hue we can always rely on” says Leatrice Eiseman, the Executive Director of Pantone. Suggestive of the sky at dusk, Classic Blue provokes calmness and tranquility. Eiseman says “We are living in a time that requires trust and faith. It is this kind of constancy and confidence that is expressed by Pantone 19-4052 Classic Blue.”

Its ability to instill calmness and tranquillity is not the only reason for Windsor Blue’s popularity – it’s also a highly versatile shade.

This bright shade works as a wonderful colour pop of colour in a contemporary kitchen scheme and works perfectly in combination with white and light grey colours, allowing you to add dark shades to your kitchen whilst maintaining a light, airy feel. Natural wood tones also complement Windsor Blue beautifully, giving interiors a warm, classic vibe.

We’ve put together some of our favourite Windsor Blue real kitchens….

These Windsor Blue cabinets work beautifully in this stunning, classic kitchen. Natural wood tones, Scots Grey and Windsor Blue truly is a match made in heaven.
